The Divine Light Trust for the Blind was formed in 1958 as the first Non Government Organization (NGO) in the State of Karnataka. The primary purpose is Education and Rehabilitation of Persons with Visual Impairment .

The trust was founded by late Fr. Abraham and developed Fr. Robert Cutinha s.j.

 The Board of Trustees (active participants) comprises of the following experienced members:

President: Mr. T.J. Thomas , Managing Director, Gina Engg. Pvt.Ltd

Vice-President: Mr. W.A.Jerome - Social worker

Secretary : Mr. G.S. Raveendra, is actively managing the organization.

Director of Services: Ms. Kanthi Dass - specially trained in educating the disABLED and has served the trust since 1974.

Mr. Edwin Nelson Futardo - Social Worker

 The Trust employs 20 persons, and key to the operation of the trust are the Chief Executive, Mr. K.S. Raveendra and the Director of Services,  Ms.Kanthi Dass.
