The Divine Light Trust for the Blind was set up in 1958. Currently, the trust is funded through Government Aid (10%), self funding from own resources (30%) and 60% through private donations. The Government of India is providing  nominal funding . This funding is not sufficient for a residential school caring for about 75 children with  DisABILITIES. The organization also provides services with integrated education for about 100 children and services for about 400 persons with DisABILITIES in and around the Whitefield area in Bangalore.

Furthermore, in pursuit of Divine Light's other objectives of Integrated Education for the children, Resource personnel training programs  and outreach programs for the persons/families with DisABILITIES , the Trust requires help in the following areas.

• Funds to train resource personnel
• Funds to prepare children for integrated education
• Funds to conduct Tailoring programs to make the parents more self sufficient.
• Funds to conduct Horticultural programs.
• Funds for caring /training for children with multiple disABILITIES .

Contributions to the Divine Light Trust for the Blind are exempt under 80G of the Indian Income Tax Act.
